Dr. Abdulrahman K. Al-Shaiji

Chairman Board of Trustees

Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Shaiji is presently the Chairman and Managing Director of (IIES) International Integrated Education Services k.s.c.c., Co-founder of Al-Manar Leasing & Finance, Assistant General Manager of Al-Imtiaz Investment, Deputy General Manager of Al-Madar Investment and Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Wared Leasing & Finance. Dr. Al Shayji holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, a Masters of Science Degree in Management from Colorado Tech University and a PhD in Islamic Finance. Dr. Al Shayji’s career includes working for the Ministry of Electricity and Water as an Instrument Engineer (1987-1991), Head Department of EHAC of the Industrial Institute, Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (1993-1999), Assistant Manager of Strategic Planning & Product Development, Commercial Relations Manager, Sales Manager (1999-2001) and Senior Manager-Commercial Finance (2001-2003) at Al Dar Investment.

Pro. Ali S. Arifa – President of Box Hill College Kuwait

Professor Ali Arifa is currently the President of Box Hill College – Kuwait. He graduated with a Ph. D. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, in 1996.   He previously served at Kuwait University as a Faculty Member in the College of Business administration, as the Chairman of its AACSB maintenance of accreditation, and as the Director of its affiliated Business Administration Consulting Unit-Center of Excellence in Management. He also served as an Associate Professor at Lincoln University, in New Zealand. Pro. Arifa also served as a Visiting Professor in several Universities in different countries. He is a winner of several teaching awards, and has published in several areas in Economics.  Pro. Arifa has an extensive consulting experience that includes performing projects for the IMF, the UNDP, the UNESCO, the UNIDO, and the World Bank.

Ms. Viviene King – Chief Executive Officer-Box Hill Institute

Ms. King is currently a member on the board o TPCC (Insurance) Australia and was the former President of the British Columbia Rapid Transport Company (BCRTC) in Vancouver, Canada. Before this, she was Faculty Executive Manager of Western Sydney University. Ms. King holds a number of qualifications at the Masters and Postgraduate level in Commerce, Business Management, Employee Relations, Public Policy, and Leadership. She also is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ms. Jennifer Oliver – Executive Director Academic Affairs (VET & Higher Education)-Box Hill Institute

Ms. Oliver has more than 30 years’ experience as a TAFE practitioner in both teaching and management positions. Prior to her current role, Ms. Oliver was responsible for Learning and Academic Affairs. She also managed Industry Education and Training, which included the design and implementation of work-based training programs, language and literacy support, and teacher professional development. Ms. Oliver has represented the Institute at international forums, on government and industry steering committees and OECD research projects.

Ms. Rachel Brown - Executive Director, Commercial - Box Hill Institute Member, Board of Trustees

Ms. Brown is the Executive Director, Commercial, Box Hill Institute. She is currently responsible for both locally and Internationally: Developing innovative & sustainable commercial partnerships, establishing recurring revenue streams, enhancing the Institute’s profile, reputation and brands to attract new business opportunities and leading the delivery of programs for business partners and short courses through CAE.

Dr. Jamal S. F. Al Sumait– Assistant Professor at PAAET

Dr. Jamal S. F. Al Sumait is Assistant Professor at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET). He presently serves as the Assistant Head of the Electrical Engineering Department at the College of Technological Studies. Dr. Al Sumait holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Miami – USA, a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Kuwait University and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, UK. He has an extensive teaching experience in the broad fields of electronics. Dr. Al Sumait has several publications in professional academic journals in his area of expertise.

Ms. Refaa Al Refai- Deputy Manager FCCSAR Kuwait Member Board of Trustees

Ms. Refaa Al Refai is currently a Deputy Manager and shareholder, Al Sareh International Company. She is preparing for her PHD at Brunel University UK, graduated with MBA degree from Ahlia University, Bahrain in 2011. Previously served at Future Training Institute as a Director, she also served at Zain Telecommunication Company as a Marketing Analyst ( qualitative team leader).
